We have been granted a 15-year lease on the building, but it is in a run-down state and requires a lot of renovation work to restore it. The renovation of the Imperial Cinema includes major structural alterations and refurbishment to convert the cinema into a suitable church venue.

Our current estimated project cost is $58M. These include:

1. Demolition of the lower part of the balcony
2. Removal of the projection room

3. Provision of a disabled/fireman lift

4. Construction of a new auditorium floor

5. Renovation of the existing two smaller cinemas into ministry rooms

6. 2 Years' operations & rental costs

 

BUDGET UPDATE //
At the start of the project we estimated the project cost of HKD$50 million, but due to a number of factors including more structural reinforcement required than originally estimated, the total cost has risen to HKD$58 million.
